Microsoft has made available quite some while ago an app for iOS and for Android that is not vey well known, it seems: Office Lens.
Office lens allows you to quickly take pictures of whiteboards, documents or presentation screens, without you needing to perfectly align the picture, Office Lens will do that for you, it will also gets rid of shadows and odd angles so images are easier to read.
Then, you can upload the document OneNote or send it via email.
Once uploaded to OneNote, you can search as it will use Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for the supported languages:
English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish.

So rather taking a « simple » picture of any document, capture it with Lens, and take advantage of OCR…
